Cook on real fire, not gas
At the heart of the BonBiza Island XL is a 6mm-thick steel plancha set directly over an open wood fire. Heat spreads outward from the centre, so you get a natural sear zone in the middle and gentler, slower cooking towards the edge — ideal for searing steaks while vegetables cook alongside, or handling several dishes for a crowd at once. A BBQ grill grate is included as standard, so you can switch between classic barbecuing and plancha searing in the same session. Clean-up is simple: push food residue into the fire below, then wipe the plate down once it's cooled.
Corten steel that's built to age well
The island is constructed from 2–3mm Corten steel, the same weathering steel used in architecture and outdoor sculpture. Left outside, it develops a natural rust-coloured patina over time that protects the steel underneath and gives the unit a distinctive, handcrafted look — no painting or upkeep required.
A proper outdoor kitchen, not just a fire pit
At 100 x 170 x 110cm, the BonBiza Island XL is built to be the centrepiece of a garden, not tucked in a corner. It rolls on wheels for easy repositioning, and the base includes storage space for logs and cooking accessories, so everything you need is within reach. There's also room alongside the fire bowl for an optional butcher block worktop, turning it into a full prep-and-cook station.
