The Natural Patina Process
Your fire bowl arrives with a fresh steel finish or early signs of rust. As it encounters rain, dew, and oxygen, it naturally forms a tight, dense oxidation layer that seals the raw metal beneath against corrosion.

Plancha Plate Seasoning
Before your first cook, heat the plancha thoroughly and coat with a thin film of food-grade oil with a high smoke point (such as rapeseed or sunflower). Repeat 2–3 times to build a slick, non-stick cooking patina.

Safe Flame Extinguishing
Never douse hot steel fire bowls with buckets of cold water, as thermal shock can warp thick metal. Instead, place a BonFeu snuffer lid over the top to deprive embers of oxygen and safely contain sparks overnight.
